Using essential oils in the kitchen

You probably already know that you can substitute Vitality oils for herbs, spices, zest, and juice, but did you know we have other offerings that can help out in the kitchen? Here’s how Young Living products can make mealtime less of a chore.

Cook with confidence
If you’re looking for an introduction to cooking with einkorn grain and our Vitality line of dietary essential oils, check out the cookbook From Our Fields To Your Table. This book is packed with recipes for beverages, main dishes, sides, and desserts to take the guessing game out of meal prep.

Simplify post-meal cleanup
For quick, easy cleanup after your meals, use our Thieves® Household Cleaner. This versatile cleaner can be used on just about any surface, including your kitchen counters, appliances, highchairs, and wood floors. Use it as a go-to for all your cleaning needs for a happy, healthy home. In addition to the incredible cleansing power of this product, you’ll love its irresistible, spicy aroma.

YL tip: For most cleaning applications, mix 1 capful of the concentrated cleaner formula with 2 cups water. For light degreasing, use 1 capful with 4 cups water.

Essential oils for laundry

Wondering how to use essential oils in your laundry? Here are some ideas for a greener, cleaner laundry routine you can feel good about.

Ditch the harsh detergents
Our Thieves® Laundry Soap is formulated with gentle, plant-based cleansers that are safe for sensitive skin. Pour about 1/2 capful into your washing machine to combat dirt, stains, and strong odors and refresh your laundry with a light citrus scent.

Swap out dryer sheets for wool balls
Wool dryer balls are an eco-friendly and reusable alternative to toxin-laden dryer sheets. Simply add 2–3 drops of essential oils onto the dryer balls to infuse your laundry with your favorite scents. We love Lavender or Ylang Ylang for a dreamy, sweet aroma. Before adding your clothes, run the machine with the dryer balls for a minute or two to make sure that the oil is absorbed into the wool and doesn’t stain your clothes.

YL tip: Be mindful when using essential oils with clothes. To be safe, we recommend you avoid using essential oils with a tint, like Blue Tansy, to prevent staining.

Freshen your wardrobe
Spritz your dry clothes with a DIY linen spray to enhance the incredible scent! All you need is distilled water, witch hazel or rubbing alcohol, and a few essential oils.
